If you also applied for immigration sponsorship of your parents or grandparents in 2020, maybe your application was approved and you did not see it. In that case, you only have until midnight tomorrow (Friday, December 22) to check your email and go through the rest of the process. Every year, Canada processes thousands of applications to allow family members of some applicants through the Parents and Grandparents program. The purpose of this program, which first started in 2002, is to allow Canadian citizens or permanent residents to bring their parents or grandparents to Canada by directly sponsoring them. For this reason, the government announced on its website: “For admission in 2023, we invited previous applicants.” This means that anyone who applied for sponsorship in 2020 should check the email they used at that time to see if they received an invitation to apply for admission in 2023.
