Australia tightens the conditions for study and immigration visas

Is the era of easy migration over?

The Australian government plans to tighten visa rules for international students as well as low-skilled workers. The immigration minister said that our current admissions system is failing and we should choose people with better language skills. Also, the amount of funding required for an Australian student visa has increased to 24,500 Australian dollars. Australia has accepted more than 500,000 immigrants in 2022 and 2023, but it wants to reduce it to half.

On the other hand, the dissatisfaction of citizens in immigration-friendly countries such as Canada and Australia has also increased due to the housing and work crisis. According to a survey, about 62% of Australians believe that the rate of immigration in this country is very high. In Canada, many people believe that one of the reasons for inflation as well as the current housing crisis is the large acceptance of immigrants and students.
