Part 1
From January 2024, two new immigration routes to Canada will begin accepting applications for permanent residence from new applicants with a limited number.
These routes offer permanent residence (PR) for applicants who have special conditions, and a limited number of them is set every year. These programs are:
Caregivers Pilot Programs
Home Support Caregiver Pilot Home Support Caregiver Pilot Program and Home Childcare Provider Pilot Program
These two highly anticipated programs accept a limited number of permanent residence applications each year. These limited numbers will be filled quickly after the program opens to receive new applications. Both pilot programs had a cap of 5,500 applications in different categories in 2023.
In addition, Immigration Canada has reduced the eligibility requirement from 24 months of experience to 12 months of experience for Canadian caregiver pilot programs.
Agri-Food Pilot Program
The annual cap for another attractive but limited immigration program, the Food Agriculture Pilot Program, will be set on January 1, 2024.
The Immigration Department processes up to 2,750 applications for permanent residence each year under the pilot agriculture-food program
This pilot program will be extended with new changes on May 18, 2023 to May 14, 2025.
In addition, the family members of the applicants who have received the confirmation of receipt of the application are eligible to apply for an open work permit.
Part 2
