The province of Saskatchewan recently announced that it is expanding the work permit stream through the Saskatchewan Provincial Nominee Program (SINP) to make temporary foreign workers in low- and medium-skill occupations eligible for permanent residence (PR).
Until now, only newcomers in high-skilled occupations (TEER 0,1,2,3) and designated occupations were eligible for permanent residency through the work permit subgroup of the Saskatchewan Provincial Selection Program (SINP).
The expansion of eligible occupations for permanent residence means that work permit holders for more than 279 different occupations have recently become eligible for permanent residence in Saskatchewan.
