What is Express Entry?
Express Entry is the application management system for three Canadian immigration programs: Canada Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Provincial Nomination Programs applicants. In the Express Entry system, they are currently eligible for at least one of these programs.
Express Entry uses a points-based system, the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), to rank applicant profiles. Applicants with the highest scores receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) and can then apply for permanent residence.
After the applicant’s application, the officer of the Immigration Department will review the application and make a decision. Biometric authentication is required, and the officer may arrange an interview or request additional documents. After completing the documents, if approved, the applicant will receive Canadian permanent residence and will be one step closer to obtaining Canadian citizenship.
According to the Canadian Immigration Department, new applications will be processed within six months, and applicants have 60 days to submit their applications.
