Alberta Skilled Worker Processes through Express Entry
Applicants Alberta Skilled Worker Program Those who intend to apply for permanent residence in Canada through the Express Entry system, must go through the following steps:
- Register in the Express Entry system
Alberta’s Express Entry system, as well as the province’s Skilled Worker program, is by invitation only. Individuals who are eligible under one of the three Express Entry system subcategories—Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Workforce, and Federal Technical Occupations—must have an Express Entry profile. After creating an Express Entry profile, they must wait to receive an NOI invitation from Alberta Immigration.
- Receive an invitation
As we mentioned earlier, meeting the minimum requirements of the Alberta Skilled Workforce Program does not necessarily guarantee an invitation. People who have the best conditions and provide the variable conditions of each lottery period will be successful in receiving an invitation. To find out about these conditions, you can see the factors that increase the chances of applicants for the Alberta Skilled Worker program that we reviewed in the previous sections.
- Response to the invitation
If applicants receive an invitation or NOI, they must send a copy of the NOI to Alberta Immigration at [email protected] within 2 weeks and provide their Express Entry profile number. They must also provide a valid email address of their own to receive future notices and correspondence with Alberta Immigration.
After responding to the invitation, Alberta Immigration will verify the information the applicant has provided. If you are invited to submit your application, Alberta Immigration will send you an email asking you to submit your application. This email contains a link to the Alberta Immigration Portal.
- Receive provincial nomination
If the applicant has all the necessary conditions, he can receive the nomination of the province of Alberta. The notification of the provincial nomination will be notified to the applicant in the express entry profile. With the approval of the provincial nomination, 600 points will be added to the applicant’s profile in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
Obtaining these 600 points practically guarantees that the applicant will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada in the next round of the Express Entry lottery. It is only necessary to mention that the applicant must confirm it within 30 days after receiving the nomination of the province in order to receive the invitation to apply.
- Obtain permanent residence in Canada
Applicants who succeed in receiving an invitation to apply or ITA must submit their official application for permanent residence in Canada to the Federal Immigration Service (IRCC) within a maximum of 60 days. Usually, within about 6 months, the request of applicants for permanent residence through the Express Entry system is answered.
