NASA announced that it received a signal from this spacecraft, which indicates that it is active.
According to Tekna technology news service, NASA received a signal from the Voyager 2 spacecraft called heartbeat, which increases the hopes of communicating with it. Currently, NASA is trying to reconnect with this distant spacecraft. This disconnection was caused by sending a wrong command. This command caused the antenna to rotate two degrees away from the ground. This made the communication team no longer able to receive a message from this spacecraft.
NASA detected the signal from the spacecraft, which is currently 12 billion miles away, through a routine Iman scan. The agency is now confident that Voyager 2 is alive and active.
Voyager 2 was launched together with Voyager 1 in 1977 with the aim of receiving image data from Jupiter and Saturn. After completing the mission, their journey continued to the interstellar space and currently these two objects are considered to be the most distant man-made objects.
At the moment, Vaihar 1 is still in communication with NASA and its distance from Earth is about 15 billion miles. This spacecraft also entered the interstellar space for the first time in 2012 and is considered the farthest man-made.
