How is the “gradual death warrant” signed for 200,000 wounded in Gaza – Mehr News Agency | RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Shahab news agency, the National Committee for Referral of the Sick and Wounded in Gaza asked the World Health Organization to immediately intervene to create a clear and binding mechanism for the immediate exit of the sick and wounded from Gaza.
This committee, pointing out that the continuation of the traffic ban threatens the lives of thousands of people, said that it represents about 22,000 injured people who are on the referral list. Among these people, 5,000 people need to leave immediately, and in addition to them, 8,000 need medical travel for cancer patients.
Emphasizing that at least one patient dies every day due to not leaving Gaza, this report emphasized that the total number of injured people in the Gaza Strip is close to 200,000, of which 20,000 have suffered amputations and need advanced prostheses and rehabilitation treatment.
The committee called on the Egyptian authorities to intervene and reopen the Rafah crossing with an urgent humanitarian mechanism. The said committee also asked the international mediators and the World Peace Council to put pressure on the Zionist regime to facilitate the travel of critical cases.
The statement emphasized that the Rafah crossing is the only land crossing for more than two million Palestinians and that the current travel mechanism has become a “gradual death sentence” for the sick.
