According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Ryanovsti news agency, Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, reacted to the news about the arrest of the brother of the King of England due to his connection with the case of a sex offender in the United States.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia stated in this regard: The British law enforcement system should have dealt with the problems of their country a long time ago.
“Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor” (Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor), the brother of Charles III, the King of England, was arrested today on charges of misconduct.
According to this media, this former prince was deprived of his royal title last fall after revealing his relationship with “Jeffrey Epstein”, a convicted sex offender in the United States.
He, who was previously known as “Prince Andrew”, has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
Thames Valley Police did not name Mountbatten-Windsor in a news release, but the agency said it was “evaluating” reports that the former prince sent business reports to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in 2010, according to the Associated Press.
“Following a thorough assessment, we have now launched an investigation into misconduct in his public office,” a police statement said. It is important that we protect the integrity and impartiality of our investigation as we work with our partners to investigate this breach.
