According to RCO News Agency, citing Anatolia News Agency, French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Tuesday that Paris and India do not want to “submit to any kind of domination” and emphasized their commitment to the rule of law and international norms.
In a press conference with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the French President said: We believe in a third way, in a free and open Indo-Pacific region, in cooperation in defense technology and trade, and in a firm determination not to surrender to any type of domination.
The Indian Prime Minister hosted Macron in Mumbai, India’s financial hub, where the two sides held delegation-level talks.
Emmanuel Macron then noted that they believe in the rule of law, predictability and “effective multilateralism.”
He emphasized that the relations between France and India are “at a stage of significant acceleration” in response to the transformation of the international order.
Macron emphasized the importance of the concept of strategic independence for both countries and said that the parties share the same point of view.
