Speaking to the German radio Deutschlandfunk, he addressed the leaders of Paris and said: whoever speaks about it, should act accordingly in his own country. The efforts of the French Republic have not been enough so far.

Wadful added: “Whoever talks about the independence of (Europe) from America today, should do his homework at home first.”

These words of the German foreign minister indicate the growing tensions between the two major European powers.
