Al-Sisi: Cairo supports the territorial integrity of Somalia – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Al Jazeera news agency, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, in a meeting with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, announced in a speech today: Cairo supports the unity and territorial integrity of Somalia and rejects any recognition of the independence of any part of that country’s territory.
The President of Egypt continued in this regard: Egypt is deploying its forces as part of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM). The responsibility for securing the security of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden rests exclusively with the coastal countries.
Abdelfattah al-Sisi then added: Cairo supports the territorial integrity of Somalia and emphasizes the importance of its participation in the peacekeeping mission of the African Union there. Egypt categorically rejects any action that threatens the security and stability of Somalia and the Horn of Africa region. We will continue our efforts to maintain the security and stability of Somalia, the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region.
It should be noted that the Zionist regime illegally recognized the separatists of the Somaliland region not long ago, which caused a wave of negative reactions among the countries of the world.
