UNRWA’s warning about the unprecedented increase in Zionist violence in the West Bank – Mehr News Agency | RCO News Agency
According to the Mehr News Agency, Philip Lazzarini, in a statement published by the Palestinian news agency “Wafa”, stated that the attacks of the Zionist settlers continue without interruption and the Palestinian population is constantly threatened, evicted from the lands and destruction of livelihoods, while the perpetrators of these actions are immune from punishment.
He continued: What is going on in the West Bank is Israel’s “silent war” that has not had enough media coverage, and since October 2023, more than a thousand Palestinians have been killed in this area, and about a quarter of them were children.
He stated that tens of thousands of people are still displaced; After a year has passed since the beginning of the operation of the Israeli regime called “Iron Wall”, which was the biggest wave of displacement since 1967, their houses are gradually being destroyed to make it impossible for them to return.
Lazzarini emphasized that while the world’s focus is on Gaza, gross violations of international humanitarian law in the West Bank have become a common issue.
Since the beginning of the genocidal war in the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the regime army and Zionist settlers have committed numerous crimes in the West Bank, including murder, destruction of homes, displacement of Palestinians, and settlement expansion.
So far, these measures have led to the martyrdom of 1,100 Palestinians, the wounding of about 11,500 people, and the arrest of more than 21,000 people.
In the West Bank, about 770,000 Zionist settlers live in hundreds of settlements and bases, of which 250,000 are based in East Jerusalem, and they carry out violent actions against Palestinians every day in order to forcibly evict them from their land.
