Machado’s delusion about the presidency of Venezuela
Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado said on Friday that she believes she will one day be elected preside of Venezuela.
According to RCO News Agency, Machado told Fox News: “I wa to serve my coury – the place where I am most useful – I believe that at the right time I will be elected preside of Venezuela.”
Machado was at the White House for about two and a half hours on Thursday, where he had a conversation with US Preside Donald Trump. Trump said it was a “great honor” to meet him.
On January 3, the United States launched a massive offensive against Venezuela, which led to the arrest of Venezuelan Preside Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Celia Floss, and their transfer to New York. Trump announced that Maduro and Floss would be tried for “narco-terrorism” and endangerme, including against the United States. Maduro and Flores pleaded not guilty to the charges when they appeared in court in New York.
Trump had said that it would be “very difficult” for Machado to lead Venezuela after the US military operation, because he does not have enough respect and support in his coury.
