Trump: I may impose tariffs on any coury that opposes plans for Greenland

US Preside Donald Trump warned on Friday that the United States may impose tariffs on any coury that does not agree to Washington’s takeover of Greenland.
According to RCO News Agency, in a speech, Trump emphasized the possibility of imposing tariffs on couries opposed to the acquisition of Greenland by the United States and stated that Washington needs this autonomous island for issues related to its national security.
Trump has previously said that he does not trust Denmark to protect Greenland and has reiterated that the island is a US national security issue.
Greenland is a self-governing territory of Denmark. It is the largest island in the world and is located in the ceer of the Arctic, which is becoming increasingly importa due to the melting of ice caused by the climate crisis and the opening of new trade routes.
White House spokeswoman Carolyn Levitt announced on Thursday that technical negotiations between the United States and Denmark have begun regarding the possible purchase of Greenland by Washington.
