Armenia: Relations with Iran are of strategic importance for us
The Foreign Minister of Armenia and the Political Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran emphasized on the joint political agreement to upgrade relations to a strategic level.
According to RCO News Agency, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzian on Thursday hosted Majid Takhtrovanchi, Political Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who is in Yerevan to hold political consultations between Armenia and Iran.
In this meeting, the issues related to the development of bilateral relations between Armenia and Iran were discussed, the joint political agreement was emphasized for the promotion of relations to a strategic level, and the progress of the works carried out in this direction was reviewed.
Mirzian said in his speech during the meeting with Takht-Ravanchi: “Naturally, we attach great importance to our relations with our neighbor and friend Iran. Basically, these relations are of strategic importance for us. “It is not without reason that the president of the medical profession and the prime minister Pashinyan have agreed that this year our relations will be officially upgraded to the level of strategic partnership.”

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Armenia praised the dynamic development of relations between Yerevan and Tehran and said: “Our relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran are at a very high level, and we are also willing to sign a strategic partnership document with Iran.”
