Spain: We are ready to send peacekeepers to Gaza and Ukraine
The Prime Minister of Spain announced his readiness to send troops to Gaza and Ukraine in order to carry out a peace mission.
According to RCO News Agency, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that Madrid is ready to send its troops to the Gaza Strip for a peacekeeping mission “whenever the opportunity arises”, just as it is ready to send troops to Ukraine.
He said at the gathering of Spanish ambassadors in other countries in Madrid: “I will propose to the parliament, when the opportunity arises, to send peacekeeping forces to Palestine.”
According to The Times of Israel, Sanchez added: “Of course, we have not forgotten Palestine and the Gaza Strip. Spain must actively participate in rebuilding hope in Palestine. “The situation there is still unbearable.”
He also emphasized once again that Spain is ready to send troops to Ukraine if a peace agreement is reached, and he called this moment “critical” and “determining” for the realization of peace in that country.
“If Spain has sent peacekeepers to many places far away from our country, how can we not send peacekeepers to Ukraine, a European country?” Sanchez said.
Russia is against the presence of any foreign peacekeeping forces on the territory of Ukraine.
The Spanish government, which recognized the state of Palestine in 2024, has been one of the staunchest European critics of the Zionist regime.
