Sari Grand Mosque
The Jame Mosque of Sari is the oldest mosque in Diyar Alaviyan, belonging to the early centuries of the post-Islamic historical era (Qajar period). It is said that this mosque was built on the ruins of a fire temple. On July 21, 1397, a fire occurred in this mosque, which caused a major part of it to be destroyed. In August 2018, the reconstruction of the mosque was completed and now it is one of the famous places in Sari.

Imamzadeh Yahya
Imamzadeh Yahya is one of the other places of interest in Sari, which has been registered as one of the national works of Iran. This building was built during the Marashian period in the 9th century AH. The building of Imamzadeh is a cylindrical tower with a 12-sided pyramidal dome about 17 meters high. The main core of the building has a circular plan that creates a cylindrical volume.

Haj Mustafa Khan Mosque

Farah Abad Historical Collection
The historical complex of Farah Abad includes a mosque, a bridge and the remaining walls of a royal palace that was built by the order of Shah Abbas Safavid and was a seaside resort of the Safavids. The mosque of this historical complex with long porches, naves, cells and minarets is considered one of the most important historical buildings and places of interest in Sari.

Badab Surat, after Mount Damavand, has been registered as the second natural heritage of Iran in the list of national monuments. Badab Surat includes several springs with completely different waters in terms of color, smell, taste and water volume. Alandan Lake

The Kalbadi Mansion was built at the end of the Qajar period by the order of Sardar Jalil, one of the army commanders. He gave this mansion to his fourth son Manouchehr Khan Kalbadi. Kolbadi Mansion is considered one of the sights of Sari today, and its architecture, which is derived from the Qajar period, has two parts, interior and exterior. The main building of this mansion is built on two floors and a basement in the inner part, and each floor has a king’s seat and rooms on both sides. Oben waterfall, one of the most beautiful and pristine waterfalls in Iran, is located in the depth of Dodangeh Sari forest. This waterfall is located on the border of Semnan and Mazandaran provinces and in Dodange protected area, one of the scenic areas of Sari.

Chort lake is located in the northeast of Mazandaran province and Chahardangeh district of Sari city. Chort was created in 1320 AD as a result of an earthquake and a landslide, followed by the blocking of the water path of the spring located next to the lake. The size of this lake is about 2.5 hectares and the locals call it Mianshe Lake. But because of its proximity to Chort village, it is called by this name. When the water of the lake goes down, the rest of the trees that were in the place of the lake’s origin appear and create a beautiful view that you may have seen in few parts of Iran.

This lake is one of the most beautiful tourist attractions in Sari and Mazandaran province. To reach it, you can take a forest path and experience the pleasure of walking among the dense trees. To reach Chort Lake, you must take the Sari-Kiasar route. After traveling a distance of about 50 km and not reaching the village of Zalam, you enter the side road on the left. About 15 kilometers further you will reach Chort village. After the village there are several dirt tracks to access the lake. The dirt road is about 10 kilometers long and leads to Chort Lake. You can also get help from local guides for access.
Samskandeh Wildlife Sanctuary
Samskandeh Wildlife Sanctuary with an area of about one thousand hectares is located 10 kilometers east of Sari and is considered one of the scenic areas of Sari. Among the important plant species of this region are holly, angelica, alder, raspberry, and lilac, and among the important animal species are yellow deer, maral, shoka, pheasant, all kinds of hunting birds, jackal, forest cat, squirrel and forest otter, boar, forest eagle, owl, forest pigeon, and wolf. A part of the Samskande wildlife sanctuary, such as Dasht Naz, has been exploited as a habitat for the Iranian yellow deer.

Suleiman Tange Dam is located 46 km south of Sari in a mountainous area. This dam, which is also known as Shahid Rajaei Dam, was prepared for travelers and tourists in 1379 and is one of the best places to visit in Sari. It is possible to visit the top of the dam, and there are boating and skiing facilities available in its lake for those interested.

Dasht Naz Wildlife Sanctuary
Dasht Naz Wildlife Sanctuary, with an area of about 56 thousand hectares, is one of the must-see places in Sari. In 1346, the steppe forest of this area was assigned to the breeding ground of Iranian spotted yellow deer. Dasht Naz is very attractive and spectacular for those interested in nature and wildlife. Serandon and Balendon lagoon
Serandon and Balendon Wetland is located near the village of Sayed Mahalle, 23 kilometers from Sari towards Babolsar, and has two parts: South (Serandon) and North (Balendon), whose area is about 30 hectares and their average depth is one meter. These wetlands are full of water in winter and autumn and low in spring and summer due to agricultural uses. The water of these lagoons is sweet and inside and around them are reeds and swamp plants surrounded by meadows and rice fields.
