Arizona Supreme Court vacated following the discovery of a suspected explosive package
The Arizona Supreme Court and the state Department of Education building were evacuated after a package was discovered that initially tested positive for explosives.
According to Isna, judicial authorities and security forces, including the US Department of Education, Firearms and Tobacco, have begun an investigation into a suspicious package at the Arizona Supreme Court building.
According to the Guardian, at around 10:30 a.m. local time on Monday, Arizona Supreme Court employees were sent home due to a positive test result for explosives in the building’s mail room, and the building was completely evacuated.
The building is located about a mile west of downtown Phoenix, and the suspicious package is under investigation by the state Department of Public Safety and Phoenix police.
Also, the building of the state education department, which is located in front of the Supreme Court, was evacuated due to possible danger.
As of press time, the Arizona Department of Public Safety has not made any official comment on the incident.
