Trump confirmed the possibility of launching ground attacks in Latin America
The US president has confirmed the imminent launch of ground strikes against what he says are targets of drug cartels in Latin America.
According to Isna, US President Donald Trump said in his message of congratulations to the military on the occasion of Christmas, referring to the country’s recent attacks on boats in the Caribbean and the Pacific Ocean, which it claims are in line with the fight against drug cartels: “Now we are looking for them on the ground.”
The US President also extended special congratulations to the crew of the aircraft carrier USS Gerald Ford, currently stationed in the Caribbean Sea.
“It’s an interesting place to be right now,” he added.
Donald Trump also threatened Venezuela earlier this week with an unprecedented demand to return what he described as stolen US oil, land and other assets.
The remarks came alongside promises of an imminent ground offensive against what he called drug traffickers, as part of Washington’s broader so-called anti-narcotics campaign in the region.
