The International Institute of Seismology and Earthquake Engineering has unveiled earthquake preparedness guides for children with disabilities.
According to Isna Earthquake preparedness guides for children with disabilities were unveiled with the presence of a group of officials and experts from the country’s crisis management organization, exceptional education organization, Red Crescent youth organization, the country’s welfare organization, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
These guides have been prepared in line with the social responsibilities of the International Institute of Seismology and Earthquake Engineering in order to promote public preparedness against earthquakes and in joint cooperation with UNICEF, UNESCO and the UNESCO Regional Educational and Research Center for Earthquake Risk Management and Resilience for the first time in the world.
These guides have been prepared for three groups of contacts, including families and caregivers, educators and executive officials related to these children, and they include topics related to a wide range of disabilities, and the points that should be considered in the field of prevention, preparedness, emergency response, and reconstruction and rehabilitation for these children are reflected in them.
