Lavrov: The West is a master of meddling in other people’s elections
The Russian Foreign Minister emphasized today (Thursday) that the issue of elections in Ukraine raises the question of how the West will “coordinate” them.
According to RCO News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in a meeting that US President Donald Trump’s statements regarding the necessity of holding elections in Ukraine raises the question of how the West will “coordinate” them if they are held.
“Recently, US President Donald Trump, commenting on the situation in Ukraine, advised (President Volodymyr) Zelensky not to ‘trample’ on democracy and hold elections anyway,” Lavrov said at a United Russia party meeting. “How this can be organized and how the West will coordinate these elections, if they happen, is another matter.”
Sergey Lavrov also said that the West actively interferes in the elections of other countries and added that the “electoral neo-colonialism” of the West is a threat to the majority of countries in the world.
The Russian foreign minister also called the fact that the United States no longer wants such “democracy” as understood in Europe a serious indicator.
“The fact that the United States no longer wants democracy as it is understood in Europe is a serious indicator,” Lavrov said at the meeting of the United Russia party, according to RIA Novosti.
