Trump once again threatened Thailand and Cambodia – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to RCO News Agency, US President Donald Trump announced in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that he has threatened to impose new tariffs on Thailand and Cambodia.
He said: Just 10 minutes ago, before you came, I used tariffs to curb the new conflict between Thailand and Cambodia.
This American official added: I told them that if the war continues, I will not only cancel the trade agreement, but also impose tariffs on your country. No one but me can do that.
Trump said that tariffs are an important tool in his administration’s foreign policy and that it would be very bad for Washington if the US Supreme Court declared some of the tariffs he imposed illegal.
He emphasized that even in such a situation, he will find the necessary legal bases for applying new tariffs.
In a situation where Trump claims to have threatened Thailand and Cambodia with tariffs, the war continues in this region. The continuation of the war between these two Asian countries is a kind of failure of the White House’s alleged policy of “creating peace from a position of power”.
