“National Geographic” magazine published its annual list of “World’s Best Travel Destinations in 2026”. A list that focuses on specific eves. National Geographic annually collects the opinion of the global community from its experts, explorers and editors, and iroduces a list of destinations that have the greatest poteial to provide a unique experience in tourism in the coming year. In the 2026 National Geographic list, the focus is on areas that are of ierest for importa reasons such as hosting major sporting eves (Wier Olympics in Italy and the World Cup in Vancouver), registering world heritage and implemeing large environmeal projects (such as the amber whale sanctuary in Dominica) or developing historical infrastructure (such as Khiva and Beijing).
Dolomites, Italy
The Dolomite region will be in the ceer of atteion due to hosting the 2026 Wier Olympic and Paralympic Games in February and March.

The Dolomites are the heart of the eve, which is part of the largest ski area in the world. Infrastructure and services, especially boutique hotels and luxury restauras, have been renovated and upgraded ahead of this big eve.
The Chinese capital is ready to welcome tourists in 2026 with updated facilities to explore its imperial history. The “ceral axis of Beijing”, including monumes such as the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Rabat, Morocco, has been noted for its selection by UNESCO as the “2026 World Book Capital” and its successful combination of ancie history and modern developme.

Khiva, Uzbekistan

High-speed train service is planned to halve the travel time from Tashke in autumn 2026.
