Zionist military attack on Quneitra in southern Syria – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, citing SANA, after shelling the eastern Tal Ahmar forest in the southern suburbs of Quneitra with four artillery shells, the Zionist forces advanced towards the town of Berigah in the outskirts of Quneitra in southern Syria. This advance of the Zionist military did not cause any loss of life or material damage.
SANA added that Israeli forces also advanced towards the Yarmouk Basin area in Daraa countryside.
This advance of Israeli forces took place hours after the Israeli army attacked the outskirts of Quneitra and Daraa on Tuesday. On Monday, Israeli forces attacked the outskirts of Quneitra three times.
Damascus has always condemned repeated violations of its sovereignty by Israel and emphasizes its adherence to the cease-fire agreement signed in 1974 with the mediation of the United Nations between the two sides.
After the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in late 2014, Israel unilaterally declared the 1974 agreement invalid.
Aggressive actions and movements of the Israeli regime have recently increased in Quneitra, and Syrians are complaining about Israeli forces invading their agricultural land, which is their only source of livelihood, as well as the destruction of hundreds of dunums (each dunum is equal to 1000 square meters) of forest, as well as arrests, establishment of military checkpoints and inspection of passers-by.
Although the Syrian government is not considered a threat to Tel Aviv, the Israeli army has entered this Arab country many times and the airstrikes of this regime have killed civilians and destroyed military facilities, vehicles, weapons and ammunition belonging to the Syrian army.
