The acquittal of a reputable Canadian brand from the Zionist cycling team – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, quoted by AFP, the Canadian company “Premier Tech” announced that it will end its cooperation and financial support for the Israeli Premier Tech cycling team in various competitions in the midst of the Gaza war, following widespread protests.
In recent months, on the way to several major international races, the Israel Premier Tech cycling team was targeted by protesters against the regime’s genocide. Various stages of the “Vuelta a España” tour were disrupted in August and September by protests and flag-waving by pro-Palestinian activists.
Also, during two other important tours in Italy and France, there were scattered protests against this team.
Canada’s Premier Tech brand asked the team to remove the name “Israel” from its identity and brand after the end of the Spanish tour, and the team agreed to distance itself from the Israeli identity, but this decision was not enough to calm the situation and the Canadian company announced on Friday that it would completely stop sponsoring the team.
In the statement of Premier Tech Company, it is stated: After numerous conversations with the team and careful examination of the situation, Premier Tech has decided to withdraw from the title of sponsor of the Israeli team as of this moment.
Owned by Canadian-Israeli property developer Sylvan Adams, the team entered the world’s elite road racing circuit in 2020, attracting four-time Tour de France champion Chris Froome that same year.
Adams stepped down from team management last month and it was announced that he would no longer speak on behalf of the team. He used to describe himself as the “unofficial ambassador of Israel”, although his team is private in nature and not governmental.
