Macron’s former adviser considers him the “worst” president of France in more than 60 years
Alain Mink, businessman and former adviser to French President Emmanuel Macron, believes that he is the “worst” president that France has seen since the establishment of the Fifth Republic in 1958.
According to Isna, Politico quoted Mink as saying: “Macron leaves the country in a much worse state than when he took power… He leaves behind a political landscape in France that may be forever unstable.” This is unforgivable.”
The former coach of the president said that Macron refuses to accept that he himself has become a source of political instability inside the country, adding that only the right-wing “National Rally” party has a chance of winning the next presidential election and subsequently gaining a parliamentary majority.
According to Politico, the 76-year-old businessman has advised several French presidents since Francois Mitterrand in the 1980s and was one of Macron’s earliest supporters. He also supported Macron before he won in 2017 and during his first term, but relations between the two soured after the 2024 snap election as the president began to make “increasing mistakes” and surrounded himself with “an extremely mediocre team”.
