Many killer asteroids, one of which may be Earth-destroying, have yet to be identified, a planetary science researcher has claimed. Currently, even the closest examples of these asteroids have not been discovered.
Tecna Technology and Technology News Service report, NASA along with the European Space Agency have been looking for the discovery of near-Earth asteroids for a long time. The obtained list shows that each of them can be considered a threat to mankind.
Data recently published by the European Space Agency shows that more than 90% of asteroids with a diameter greater than one kilometer that may be planet killers have been identified. Seth Jacobson, from the University of Michigan said in this regard: Many asteroids with a size of one hundred square meters and killer have not been identified yet.
According to scientists, there should be about 30,000 asteroids with average diameters of 100 to 300 meters around the earth, which have not been identified yet. Of course, 70,000 asteroids have been discovered near us so far, and about 75% of the rest can be discovered while orbiting the sun and when they are crossing the path of our planet. Recent data from the European Space Agency show that there are about one million asteroids between 30 and 100 meters, 95% of which are undiscovered.
