In Italy, one of the most amazing works of Tuscany architecture is not far from the city of Florence and on a lush hill; Castle of Sammezzano is the result of more than 5 years of effort and imagination of Ferdinando; A nobleman who, unlike the time of time, created a different world in the heart of stone and color. Ferdinando built a house that had a stunning manner of color and light. Its exterior is in the color of the desert sand, and the inner halls are inspired by the distant lands that he always wanted to see. The result was the full manifestation of the architectural style of the Moorish Revival.
This medieval castle was built in the year 6 AD; But in the nineteenth century and when it was inherited to Ferdinando. His huge reconstruction began in the year 9 and continued for five years.

The interior of the palace is a combination of Murich, Byzantine, Indian and Chinese elements. Although Ferdinando had not been educated, the reconstructions showed that he was a capable and botanical architecture. All the work was completely done by local craftsmen; In addition, all bricks, decorative strips and tiles were built in place under the careful supervision of Ferdinando.

Inside the castle, they built four rooms of the year, each with a unique combination of colors, lighting and inscriptions in Latin, Italian and Spanish, the story of Ferdinando’s life.
In the meantime, there is a place called “White Room” in the palace, which includes the “Big White Hall” with a glass dome. This space is surrounded by a peripheral balcony, Moroccan mosaic flooring and iron chalsera. Even a dedicated small church is located in this room.
The Semadzano Castle, built on an area of 2 hectares, was once surrounded by one of the largest historic Tuscany gardens; A garden that included more than 5 species of strange plants. After the death of Ferdinando and his lack of care, most non -native plants were destroyed. However, there are still some of the giant Sequoia trees brought from California.

On the walls of the castle, the slogan “Non Plus Ultra”; A Latin phrase, which means “nothing is beyond this” is translated, and shows that Ferdinando in his dream was completely confident in the unity and authenticity of this work.
For a short time after World War II, the castle turned into a luxurious hotel; But even the presence of wealthy guests failed to provide the staggering costs of the palace; Because it lacks modern basic facilities such as the central heating system or easy water access.
Today, the future of the Semadzano Castle is unclear. The designs that were supposed to make it a public museum have been canceled. Maybe someday this happens; Because inside it, there is a world that goes beyond any imagination.
