Joint Statement of the US, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE on Sudan – Mehr News Agency | Iranian and world news
The US, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates issued a joint statement describing Sudan’s integrity and unity as a fundamental condition for stability in the region, according to Mehr News Agency.
In their statement, the two countries called for an urgent ceasefire in Sudan and the start of a widespread and transparent political transfer process.
The three -month temporary ceasefire statement demanded the immediate entry of humanitarian aid to Sudan through safe crossings to all parts of the country.
The conflict in Sudan began in April 2008 and has caused the deepest humanitarian crisis in Sudan’s contemporary history. In this regard, the Sudan National Army was able to gain full control of the city of North Kurdfan after a successful operation and several days of battle with the rapid reaction forces.
Barra recapture is of particular strategic importance because it is in the vicinity of treatment and west of the capital of Khartoum.
Since July 6, it has occupied the city’s rapid reaction forces and used it as an offensive base against the Northern Kurdish center, the city of al -Abiz.
It is noteworthy that according to UN statistics, about 5 million Sudanese – equivalent to half of the country’s population – deal with severe hunger and threats; These horrible statistics show the depth of the catastrophe that shadows the innocent Sudanese families.
