Both countries offer permanent residence routes, but there are important differences.
Australia calls for applicants to have an independent visa (Skilled Independent Visa) to be 5 years or less (with some exceptions). In contrast, Canada mainly has no age restrictions.
Canada prioritizes people with Canadian work experience and education. The Canadian Experience Program (CEC) is one of the most popular federal programs for the skilled workforce that has experience in Canada. But although Australia points to Australian education and work experience, it has no program similar to CEC.
Australia’s permanent residence routes are strongly dependent on the list of skilled jobs (SOL) that focuses on certain specific jobs (such as STEM -related jobs or engineering and mathematics). Individuals in other jobs may face restrictions on permanent residence routes, unless they are nominated by a state or region or use family joining options.
In contrast, applicants for all specialized and semi -specialized jobs can participate in the Canadian Express System. This program includes jobs with the Code of TEERS 0, 1, 2, and 3 of the National Classification of Jobs (NOC). Lowest jobs (Teer 4 or 5) are not qualified to Express Entry, but they may have the necessary conditions through Provincial Candidate Programs (PNP).
Express Entry is an online system for managing skilled workers’ migration requests to Canada. The Canadian Experience Program (CEC) is a popular path for international students. Applicants for this program must have at least 5 years of skilled work experience in Canada (full -time or part -time) in the past 5 years.
Through PNP programs, Canadian provinces and territories, and according to their needs, they nominate qualified applicants for permanent residence. Successful applicants receive a provincial nomination. With a provincial nomination, the chances of applying for permanent residence through the Express Entry system or out -of -Express Entry Immigration programs are increased.
Visa for Independent Skilled Labor (Subclass 2) is a score -based visa for a skilled workforce that is evaluated based on factors such as age, education, work experience and English language skills.
Applicants must have a qualified work experience (their job is in the list of skilled jobs) and evaluate their qualifications by an Australian entity before submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) request through Skillselect. Applicants who have an Australian degree or have an Australian work experience receives additional privileges, which is a good advantage for international graduates.
Visa for skilled labor in (temporary) (Subclass 2) is a score -based visa for a skilled labor that wants to live and work in various Australian areas. Applicants must be nominated by a state/territory government or supported by a qualified person and their job must be in the relevant skilled job list. Scores are also awarded based on age, education, work experience and English language skills. This visa is valid for five years and is provided with permanent residence, after meeting specific conditions through a permanent residence visa (regional skilled labor).
