Hamas: Gaza has become a death camp – Mehr News Agency | Iranian and world news
Osama Hamdan, a senior member of the Hamas Islamic Resistance Movement, told Al Jazeera that the Zionist regime with the support of the United States and international silence, in an interview with Al Jazeera.
Referring to Washington and Tel Aviv’s joint efforts to divert the UN Security Council meeting from the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and its focus on captives, he said: “So far, four people in Gaza have died because of hunger, of which four were children.”
The Palestinian aid has been martyred and more than 6,000 people have been injured during targeting humanitarian aid applicants.
According to him, 5 % of Gaza’s families are now suffering from food insecurity, and the area is facing a severe shortage of children’s milk powder and treatment equipment to fight hunger.
There are also more than 6,000 trucks carrying aid behind the closed doors of the crossings, and the Zionist regime intentionally prevents them.
“These figures should be a serious alarm for the members of the Security Council,” Hamdan said. Today, more than two million Palestinians live in a situation where we are even ashamed to describe.
Gaza has become a death camp and what is going on in Gaza today from what happened in the Holocaust; It is more catastrophic.
He emphasized the need for immediate halt to the crimes of the Zionist regime and the trial of its perpetrators: The crimes of this regime continue not only in Gaza but also in the West Bank and the international community must take a stand against it.
Hamdan also referred to the critical situation of the captives in Zionist prisons, saying that the number of Palestinian prisoners has reached 6,000 and they are exposed to severe physical and mental torture. So far, five Palestinian captives have been martyred in prisons for torture and medical negligence.
According to the Hamas official, there are many documented testimonies of the assault on the captives and the regular destruction of their souls and bodies in Zionist camps, but the relevant human rights institutions have either been suppressed or silent.
He added that while the Zionist regime prevents food and food from reaching the oppressed people of Gaza, it claims to be concerned about its captives. Israeli prisoners, however, eat the same food as the siege of Gaza.
At the end, Hamedan invited members of the Security Council to put pressure on the Zionist regime to end these crimes: “We have always been ready to interact positively with any request to enter Israeli captives against humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.”
