The Arab League issued a statement after an emergency meeting on Gaza developments, according to the Mehr News Agency.

“We condemn the conversion of the Gaza Strip to the Israeli occupation,” said a statement by the Arab League.

The council emphasized: The international community must immediately act to halt the Gaza Strip and to recognize the catastrophe and famine.

The statement has warned that the occupation’s policies and actions about displacing the Palestinian people, according to the Rome Statute, are considered mass destruction.

The statement comes as Palestinian groups and Gaza residents have always criticized the passive positions of the Arab League on developments in Palestine and Gaza and have called for the union’s practical actions instead of making a statement.
