Turkish Foreign Minister: Russia and Ukraine agreed for the next round of negotiations
The Turkish Foreign Minister said Russia and Ukraine agreed to hold the next round of talks and Turkey expects it.
In the second round of talks between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations, which was held in Istanbul with the mediation of Türkiye, it ended on Monday after about an hour. The meeting was aimed at examining the conditions of ceasefire, prisoners and feasibility of meeting the heads of the two countries.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said in an interview on Tuesday evening with Tarty Haber: “The Russian and Ukrainian delegations came to Istanbul on Monday and each party focused on the outcome.”
“Türkiye is waiting for the next meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations,” said Fidan, saying that Russia and Ukraine agreed to hold the next round of talks.
A spokesman for the Turkish Foreign Ministry earlier told reporters in describing the round of talks: “The negotiations ended without negative results.”
