Symbolic Journey of Madeleine Ship to Break Gaza Siege – Mehr News Agency | Iranian and world news
The Madeleine Coalition, a Freedom Fleet Coalition, began its move from the port of Katania in southern Italy; A move aimed at breaking the siege of the Zionist regime over more than 1.5 million Palestinians in the area.
According to the report, the ship is 2 meters long, carrying two international activists, including Swedish environmental activist Greta Tonberg, and Irish actress Liam Kaningham. Prior to the ship, a large number of people in the port of Katania gathered with the flags of Palestine to support this humanitarian action.
“We are in a civil mission aimed at breaking the symbolic siege of Gaza,” said Greta Tonberg, in a speech before leaving the port. If a particle of humanity remains, we must fight for Palestine; I’m here because this is my job.
The Freedom Fleet Coalition also said that the Madeleine ship carries vital aid such as dry milk, medical equipment and other relief items. The vessel intends to enter Palestine’s regional waters through European international waters, a fully compliant act in accordance with international law.
The statement warned that any intervention or attack on this peaceful mission will be a deliberate and illegal act against civilians. According to planning, the marine trip will last about a week, but there is a risk of seizing or attacking Madeleine due to the Zionist regime’s records to intercept and stop relief ships in international waters. A recent example is the al -Zemir ship, which was targeted by the Zionist regime’s drone on May 2, and was unable to reach Gaza.
