The Turkish Civil Aviation Authority said it made the decision after receiving complaints from passengers. These rules have been implemented since early this month.
According to Turkish media reports, the penalty is about $ 5 (£ 2), although the official guidance of the organization has not been mentioned in a specified amount.
The organization has warned that a significant increase in these violations has been observed and numerous complaints have been received for passengers who have removed their heads before the aircraft stopped.
The Civil Aviation Authority has announced that the commercial airlines are now obliged to submit a statement during the flight and report passengers who do not follow the instructions.
Passengers should be informed to keep their safety belts closed and refrain from getting up and opening the shelves above the head. Passengers who do not comply with these rules must be reported to the organization.
According to Euronews, Turkish Airlines, Türkiye’s national carrier, has updated its landing declaration.
The company has announced that travelers who do not comply with the rules will be reported to the Civil Aviation General Directorate through a destructive passenger report and that an administrative penalty will be imposed in accordance with the relevant legal provisions.
