Holding parliamentary elections in Venezuela
Venezuelan people are running for parliamentary and local elections today (Sunday).
According to RCO News Agency, the people of Venezuela will vote for the election of two members of the National Assembly, two governors and two members of the regional legislature. In total, five parties have nominated their candidates for the National Assembly.
In addition, the Venezuelanis will be elected for the first time, two deputies, one governor and two regional legislators for the disputed area of the Ekibo.
The disputed area is rich in minerals almost as much as the state of Florida that Venezuela insists it itself, but has been under the control of Guyana (a small country in South America) since the arbitration order was issued.
Venezuela’s local and parliamentary elections are held today as security officials arrested several foreign nationals a few days ago on charges of trying to intervene in the elections and destabilizing Venezuela.
