According to some Western officials, the Washington Post newspaper quoted some Western officials as saying that US President Donald Trump has withdrawn from Russia’s pressure on ending the war in Ukraine despite the conditions.

The newspaper also quoted US and European sources as saying that Russia is retreating on the battlefield and may face a shortage of manpower next year.

According to the Washington Post, “Russia has only been able to occupy 2.5 percent of Ukraine’s territory over the past year.”
