US -based interventionist statements about Lebanon’s Hezbollah weapon
The US Deputy Special Representative for West Asian Affairs called for a complete disarmament of Hezbollah’s Weapon.
In an interview with Al -Jadid Network, Morgan Ortegas emphasized the need for a full disarmament of Hezbollah’s weapon, saying that the interventionist statements should be taken as soon as possible to disarm Hezbollah.
In an attempt to fulfill the demands of the Zionist regime, he claimed that if that did not happen, Lebanon would face the risk of falling back on the region’s political and economic developments.
Ortegas also described economic and financial reforms in Lebanon as “the necessary path to build the country” and claimed that the process could undermine Hezbollah’s funding and counter corruption.
The US official, referring to the need for the Lebanese Parliament to pass the banking sector reconstruction law and the rapid preparation of the Financial Definition Act, made foreign investments in the country disarmed and implemented economic reforms.
In another part of the conversation, he said in response to his criticism of his past statements about the IMF: “My remarks were out of the field. I fully support the necessary reforms.
The US official further stated that Washington wants the monopoly of weapons in the hands of the Lebanese central government and that the international community must strive to end Hezbollah’s military role.
