Zelnski called for the West’s greater pressure on Russia
After Kiev and Moscow failed to agree on the ceasefire in their first direct negotiations after more than three years, Ukraine called for the support of their Western allies and urged them to put more pressure on Russia.
Representatives of Russia and Ukraine have met Turkey for the first time since March to end the conflict in Istanbul, according to ISNA.
According to Reuters, the talks of Russian and Ukrainian parties in Istanbul took less than two hours. Russia expressed satisfaction with the meeting that it was ready to continue calls. Both countries have announced that they have agreed to exchange four warrior of the war, which will be the biggest exchange of this type so far.

“Ukraine is ready to take the fastest possible steps for real peace and it is important for the world to take a serious stance in this case,” he said, adding that it is demanding more sanctions against Russia if the country refused to accept.
Russia has also said that it must determine its conditions before signing the ceasefire.
“We have agreed that each party will present their views on possible future ceasefire and explain it in detail,” said Vladimir Madinsky, a senior Russian negotiator after the Istanbul meeting. “After presenting such a view, as we agreed, we believe that the continuation of the negotiations will be appropriate.”
