The National Science Foundation facilitates the opportunity to access Iranian researchers and industries in support of strategic research and development of scientific infrastructure in the country, according to the Vice President of Science, Technology and Economics. This is based on national needs and successful international patterns to use this advanced technology.
Syngrotron is a type of rectangle of the circular particles that produces electromagnetic radiation using electric and magnetic fields. Known as sycrotron light, this radiation enables the study of molecular structure and cellular changes in chemical reactions and is used in various fields including physics, medicine, industry, biology and archeology.
Access to Synchronic laboratories is challenging for Iranian researchers due to intensive competition and high costs. It is very difficult to accept designs in these laboratories, and in some cases only one out of every 3 requests is accepted.
Accordingly, at a meeting of the National Council of Science of Iran, held on April 5, the terms of financial support for the projects accepted in the world’s Syngrotron laboratories were approved. This financial support helps Iranian researchers not deprived of their research.
Support for the projects accepted in the world’s synchronous laboratories
The proposals are usually sent to the sycrotron at two periods of time a year, and after arbitration by the International Working Group, selected designs are selected. The research team usually consists of three to four researchers with different specialties and lasts between 1 and 2 hours.
The National Science Foundation of Iran will support 2 to 5 research projects accepted in the world’s syncrotrons annually. Supported projects must be in line with the foundation’s priorities such as new energy, medical sciences, nanotechnology, environment and food security or be directly related to the country’s industrial needs.
The amount of funding needed to support the research projects
Obviously, the cost of traveling to different countries varies and the cost of providing sample varies depending on the type of test. The funding required to support each project (including 2 researchers) is as follows.
The Arbitration and Supervision Working Group is selected independently and people who have sufficient experience and expertise in this area, as they have been internationally judged and accepted in European laboratories from dozens of projects and in fierce competition. Also, the funding required for the project is about sixty billion riyals a year.
