Moscow’s warning to Poland – ISNA
A Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman said Moscow will react to Poland’s unnecessary decision to close the Russian Consulate in Krakow.
According to RCO News Agency, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslav Sikoreski today (Monday) announced the closure of the Russian consulate in Krakov, claiming the decision was made in a shopping center in Warsaw due to Moscow’s alleged interference in May.
Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Henrika Mucska-Dandis also announced that the State Department today announced three Russian consulate diplomats in Krakov. “The diplomatic staff of the Russian Consulate are recognized as people whose stay in our country is unfavorable,” he told reporters.
The official said there are three diplomatic employees at the Russian Consulate in Krakov.
The Polish Foreign Minister also referred to unknown “evidence” indicating that Russia’s special services have “committed a subversive act against the Marivilaska Street Shopping Center.” Russia has repeatedly denied Western allegations of sabotage abroad.
On Sunday, Polish Interior Minister Thomas Simoniak claimed that the alleged saboteurs’ actions were “organized and guided by a specific person residing in the Russian Federation.” According to the official, some of the perpetrators of the incident are currently in custody.
In response to the allegations, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova, criticizing the Polish decision, said Moscow would respond to unacceptable and unacceptable measures for Warsaw.
“Warsaw continues to deliberately destroy relations and act against the interests of the citizens,” he said. “Soon a proper response will be given to these irrational measures.”
In the meantime, Russian ambassador to Poland Sergei Andif told Ryanovosti that Warsaw had not informed Moscow about the closure of the consulate.
Fire at Merviliska Shopping Center in Warsaw on May 5
“Poland expects Russia to shut down one of the Polish consulates, possibly in Kaliningrad or Icutsk,” a spokesman for the Polish Foreign Ministry told Ryanosti News Agency.
The fire occurred at the Merviliska Shopping Center in Warsaw on May 5, and almost the whole complex, causing the ceiling to collapse. Despite the extent of the fire, no casualties have been reported. The center had about 5 shops and service stores, many of which were run by Vietnamese members of Warsaw and suffered significant financial losses.
Poland, along with other Western countries, has in many cases accused Russia of conducting subversive attacks and participating in the “combined war” in the midst of a deadlock over the Ukrainian war; Charges that Moscow rejects.
