The strike of more than 6,000 workers in Los Angeles paralyzed public services – Mehr News Agency | Iranian and world news
More than 6,000 workers in Los Angeles, the US, have begun their strike on Monday afternoon, according to the Mehr News Agency.
Officials at the Public Workers’ Union said the strike would be held in response to the failure of negotiations with contractors over the new work contract after the end of the former contract last March.
More than 6,000 workers are members of the union who work in various fields, including public health, park workers and cleaning services. The workers’ union said this is the first time all members of the union have been on strike.
One of the union officials stressed that these workers have managed successive crises in Los Angeles, from widespread fires to health and social crises.
It is said that the strike will end Wednesday evening, with office offices, some health centers and service services.
