The trip comes as the two countries have taken steps to deepen political, economic and cultural cooperation in recent years.
Earlier, the Kremlin had reported that the Russian president would talk to Sultan Oman on Tuesday. Two leaders are expected to examine key areas of cooperation, including business, economic, financial and investment relations, as well as cultural and humanitarian relations.
