Rubio: The closure report of some US embassies is fake
Rejecting the fact that the president is “politicizing” foreign service, the US Secretary of State said the closure of US embassies in some parts of the world, including Africa.
According to RCO News Agency, the US State Department cited some media reports, including the New York Times newspaper that a order has been issued to impose new requirements for diplomatic staff and to close some embassies and offices.
“This is a fake News,” said US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the X -Social Network (former Twitter). The New York Times was a victim of another deceit. “US President Donald Trump does not close any embassies in Africa.”
Earlier, CNN news television reported that in a US State Department’s internal document with the contents of the Deputy Foreign Minister’s Deputy Director of Management, it was suggested that two embassies and two US consulates will be closed in the future. The majority of these diplomatic delegations were in Europe and Africa.
The document also recommends reduced US diplomatic presence in Iraq and Somalia and changed the size of some other diplomatic delegations. The document suggests that flexible diplomatic posts be established with low levels of personnel and limited responsibilities, and consular support be consolidated in larger delegations in countries such as Japan and Canada.
“These reports have been all based on a fake document,” said a US State Department spokesman, without mentioning the details of the document.
