Moscow: Trump knows the roots of the Ukrainian war
Russian vice president said Washington knows the main reasons for the Ukrainian clash.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, Yuri Oshakov, said on Sunday that US President Donald Trump’s government knows the main reasons for the conflict in Ukraine, stressed that the main obstacle to achieving a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.
Asked whether the United States considers the delicate points of Russia’s views on a possible peace agreement, he said, “It has been raised for me that US President Donald Trump knows the main reasons for the conflict. “The anti -Russian atmosphere and anti -Moscow emotions, which have been in the US and Europe over the years and decades, are the main cause of the conflict.”
Putin’s senior deputy also added, “This atmosphere prevents the promotion of completely logical ideas that some officials, including Washington, agree.”
Putin announced on Saturday that the four -hour ceasefire, which began at 9pm local time on Saturday, is going on between Russia and Ukraine. Ukrainian President Walodimir Zelnski also announced that Kiev is following the ceasefire.
Trump and his team have said that their aim is to mediate a comprehensive urgent ceasefire. Moscow also said that the permanent ceasefire only happened when Ukraine abandons its plans to join NATO and stop its territorial claims for Crimea and four other Moscow -controlled areas.
The Russian president said last month that in order to have a practical ceasefire, Ukraine should no longer receive military assistance from the West and withdraw its troops from the Russian -controlled parts.
