Pashinian: I’m ready to sign a draft peace deal with the Republic of Azerbaijan
The Armenian Prime Minister today (Wednesday) announced his readiness to sign the draft of the Treaty of peace agreement with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
“The draft of the peace agreement between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan has been agreed and the agreement is awaiting signing,” ISNA reported in a statement released on the X -Social Network. “I’m ready to put my signature on this agreed draft.”
The Pashinian remarks came after both the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia separately announced an agreement on the draft of a peace treaty that was supposed to end decades between the parties and to establish diplomatic relations between Baku and Yerevan.
Both countries have experienced tental relations since the occupation of the Karabakh area (internationally recognized as part of the Republic of Azerbaijan) and seven adjacent areas by the Armenian Army.
Much of the area was released by the Republic of Azerbaijan during the six -day war that took place in the fall of 2; The war that ended after a peace deal with Russia’s intermediation ended. The agreement paved the way for the start of normalization of relations between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In September, the Republic of Azerbaijan exercised its full sovereignty over Nagorno -Karabakh after surrendering the separatist forces in the area.
