Kremlin: Russia is ready to talk to end the war in Ukraine
A Russian presidential spokesman said that “it is too early to talk about the exact date of the meeting of the US and Russian presidents,” said a Russian presidential spokesman said Moscow is influenced by Washington’s current government to end the war and is ready to talk.
Russian Presidential Palace spokesman Dmitry Peskov responded to questions about the first interview with Russian and US presidents Vladimir Putin on Thursday since Trump’s re -operation.
The two sides discussed the Ukrainian war and ending in this phone call, which is said to launch nearly an hour and a half.
A spokesman for the Kremlin said Moscow had been affected by the US president’s position on ending the war in Ukraine, adding that the bilateral meeting between Trump and Putin is underway.
Peskov went on to say that there is a political will on all two sides, Russia and the United States to find a solution and end this three -year war.
He noted: There is a political will from all five countries to find a solution to find a solution that was emphasized in yesterday’s phone call. There is an agreement that it is possible to achieve a peaceful solution through negotiation.
“We have begun working on a group to negotiate with Washington on Ukraine,” said Dammy Peskov, who said before Putin and Trump’s visit.
A Russian presidential spokesman also responded to a question about Trump’s remarks that Putin may take place in Saudi Arabia, saying the details of the meeting had not yet been determined.
According to Reuters, he refused to comment on which of the four leaders had begun the phone call.
In response to a question about Putin’s invitation to Trump to travel to Moscow, Peskov said that reciprocal invitations have been exchanged, but the meeting will have a different path and plan to hold a bilateral meeting between the leaders of the two countries.
He emphasized that “holding a meeting between Putin and Trump is necessary as soon as possible”: Trump’s invitation to Moscow does not mean his presence at the Day of Victory.
The annual celebration of the Soviet Victory Day for Nazi Germany will be held on May 9th.
Responding to questions about Washington’s stance on the Ukrainian war, Dmitry Peskov said: The previous US government believed that whatever should be done to continue the war. As far as we understand, the current government adheres to the view that everything must be done to stop war and peace.
“We are more influenced by the current government’s position and are ready for dialogue,” a spokesman for the Kremlin said.
Asked whether European countries would be in peace talks, Peskov said it was too early to talk about the format.
He further stressed that “Moscow not only wants to negotiate with Ukraine with the United States, but also calls for a conversation about European security and Moscow’s concern that called for NATO to return to its borders in year 6.”
Peskov noted: Certainly, all the security issues in the European continent, especially the aspects of our country, the Russian Federation, must be comprehensively discussed and we expect it.
He again explained the possibility of a meeting with Russian and US presidents: Moscow has begun preparing a negotiating group to organize a meeting between Trump and Putin. Certainly the process has begun. And as the President makes the right decisions, we will let you know.
In response to the question of whether US delegates are expected to travel to Moscow in the near future, Peskov is expected to travel in the near future. He said no yet. There has been no specific agreement so far.
