The search operation continues to find four climbers in Damavand, and according to some news, two climbers died.
Mohammad Hussein Kabadi, director of the Red Crescent Society’s Operations Organization, said about the latest situation of missing climbers in Damavand:
The search and rescue operation to find the four missing climbers of Fars province is still ongoing, but no information has been found yet. The four Shirazi climbers who sought to climb Damavand Peak have been lost on the south side of the summit at a height of more than 4,000 meters since yesterday (Sunday). At 9am yesterday, a member of the team contacted the Mountaineering Federation and announced that one of his teammates had severe frostbite and probably died, so they were planning to reduce altitude, and afterwards, there was no news of the altitude. These people are not in hand.
The Red Crescent Society’s Operational Team Manager continued:
The team had begun climbing last week, and yesterday morning at the peak of the cold, it was near the summit, which happened to them. Since the announcement, several specialized teams from the Mountaineering Federation climbers, the Damavand Insurance Insurance Relief Rescue Rescue Team, the Rapid Reaction Team, Himalayers and Local Climbers have been formed and search and rescue operations have begun.
He added: “He added:” Damavand Peak.
According to members of the rescue team, the temperature in that area is negative and the wind speed is very high. The volume of snow is also so high that it has slowed down. There is no possibility of helicopter search because the volume of clouds is very high and the helicopter that was sent to search today was forced to return.
The Red Crescent Society’s Operational Team Manager continued:
Overall, search and rescue operations continue and we hope to get access to these people as soon as possible, but the reality is that the conditions are difficult and should be ready for any news.
It is noteworthy that some sources reported that the second climbers reported in the hours before the death of other teammates.
