Trump: I’m talking to Putin
The US president announced that tariffs would also be imposed on the European Union, saying he would talk to his Russian counterpart.
US President Donald Trump answered questions from reporters at the White House Saturday morning.
“I think we might do an important job,” Trump said, adding that he would talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin. We have serious talks with Russia about the war (Ukraine) and we are trying to end it.
He also announced that he will host Japanese Prime Minister Shigro Ishiba next week.
While the White House announced on Friday evening about tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China, Trump said the tariffs would go to the EU as Brussels with Washington “has done so badly”.
The US president, however, confessed to the negative consequences of tariffs, but said the move would be “fleeting disruption”.
He also said of Venezuela: “We have to see what we can do to right -wing the situation in Venezuela.”
The US president once again emphasized his plan to migrate to the Gaza people and displace them in Egypt and Jordan despite global opposition as well as Cairo and Amman, saying that Egypt and Jordan will accept the people of Gaza.
While Panama has even rejected talks with Washington over the Panama Canal, Trump said: “We want to recapture the Panama Channel.”
He also responded to a question about the widespread clearance of employees in the federal government: “Everyone is replaceable.” We want them to go to the private sector. Our dream is that almost everyone is in the private sector.
